Insecurities... or Instincts

Love...
The alcohol of a woman's heart
Forcing judgements to be impaired
Ignoring the instincts speaking to our heart
We want so much
For him to be "Mr. Right"
That we convince ourselves
That WE are the reason he won't treat us right
We force ourselves to believe
One day he will change
One day things will be perfect
And he is worth the wait
Something like an addict
With a needle full of the devils poison
Injecting ourselves with hurt
Because he makes us happy for a moment
The longer we wait
The more we take
The harder it gets
From this "love" to escape
A never ending maze
Letting him state his case
Forgiving all his mistakes
While heart being raped
Can't even look self in the face
Time you always have to chase
Using your body as bait
As a way to see his face
Life no longer at steady pace
Instincts telling you to leave
Emotional stability at stake
But again we choose to stay
Thinking we're just insecure
Telling ourselves we have no reason
To push him out the door
Not realizing a good enough reason
Is we are worth and deserve more
Insecurities or Instincts
Telling you to leave
Trying not to get hurt
Yet open to be deceived
Understand
Insecurities are specific moments
That you question your part
Instincts are continuous
Messages of the soul
The truth spoken from your heart...
